publicubes: in transit

This interactive media art environment is dealing with the function, use and perception of public space. It alludes to nowadays optionality of public space functions within an experiment of media technology.

Cubes, placed in passage zones like train stations or pedestrian underpasses are the interface between passenger and projection and invites them to play with. He is prompted to interact with them and to cause interaction between the objects.

“Publicubes: in transit” (formerly named "Durchgangszone") is one of the eight selected projects from Salzburg Land‘s cultural funding “Podium´09 – Kunst der neuen Generation” and will be presented in the beginning of november within the Podium'09 event series in Salzburg Lokalbahnhof (Main Station).
