Über den Verlust der Schönheit  - Über Kunst und Politik

On the loss of Beauty – On Arts and Politics

Every aspect of our life has been taken over by aestheticization. All nasty things look nice in the advertisements. Displaying the uglyness of war, crime or social precarious situations has been instrumentalized by NGOs and activists to attract attention and break the uniformity of todays illusions. This useless overall-beauty (and even the inclosed programmatic uglyness) has led to a perceptional shallowness: Beauty has no meaning anymore, creating it and perceiving it holds neither value nor experience.

„He treats Beauty in the same way as entomologists treat butterflies. He catches the poor animal, nails it down, and after all its gorgeous colours have faded there remains only a lifeless body pierced upon a board. And after allthis is called aesthetics.“ (Goethe)                                    6th thesis of ZPS

«Art is about beauty, politics is about justly governing.» The Center for Political Beauty creates nice things in a field that is not normally considered for this kind of style. By linking these two directions we recreate in the people a sense for acting justly. In other words, Political Beauty overcomes the perceptional shallowness by connecting inner beauty with outer, optical beauty. With our projects we found out what «Political Beauty» is. ZPS focus is on Human Rights, Genocide, policital awareness.

Human beings are not only induced by causes, but also by targets. Beauty, Greatness and Perfection are targets.                                                                                                                              3rd thesis of ZPS
