Based in Berlin

The exhibition will present works from Designers, Writers, Painters, Dancers, Video Artist, Musicians and Visionaries, that have all participated in the 10 days long festival “Schmiede” in Hallein/Austria. The exhibition will give an insight into the Schmiede festival and artists occupations. All in all it will be a presentation of works conducted by Smiths, past as well as current, in their final state.

The event will open doors with an organized gathering. Therefore we look for your input for this event, may it be through performances, concerts or talks. And since we found the Schmiede 2010 theme “Discontent” to be a very powerful topic -  we want to further elaborate and work with - we encourage Berlin Smiths to hand in works that deal with that term. “Discontent” currently represents a global state of mind, that both connects the Smiths and enables them to work with their individual identities.

All different kinds and media of art can be handed in, but please understand that while we have a fairly big venue set up for the event, we still want to give as many artists as possible the possibility to show material. So please understand that we probably can't accept works of huge proportions. But of course this depends on the number of works submitted to us.

Application

As this is the beginning of an expansion of the Schmiede spirit and community in Berlin, we need Smith´s to participate and show Smith-work!

The opening
The exhibition will Open: 4^th March 2011 with a one evening-long programm; there one can take part and show/play or talk about ones music, dance, performance or other kind of work. Therefore is you who are creative within these fields welcome to apply!  

The walls
Will be an ongoing exhibition until the Closing: 20^th March 2011, there space for photography / paintings / video art / you name it will be shown.
